Beta terms & privacy

Last updated October 6, 2026

The short version: RinkRivals is a free game that's still being built. Expect bugs. Cards and rules will change, and your coins, cards and collection will be reset, possibly more than once. Nothing in the game costs or is worth real money. We really want to hear what you think.

It's a beta

RinkRivals is an early test version, offered free of charge so we can find out what works. You'll run into bugs, odd rulings and the occasional outage. Games in progress can be lost, and parts of the game may change, pause or shut down without notice.

Your collection will be reset

Coins, card packs, your card collection, card backs, decks and match history are part of the test. We will reset some or all of them during the beta, and again before any full launch, usually without warning.

Coins and cards are pretend. They can't be bought, sold, traded or exchanged for money or anything else, and they have no value outside the game. Because nothing is paid for, there's nothing to refund.

Ads, maybe later

There are no ads in RinkRivals today. We may add optional ads later, for example watching a short video to earn coins. They'd always be your choice and would never interrupt a game. Coins earned that way are pretend too, and get reset like everything else.

Ad partners such as Google use cookies and similar technology to show and measure ads. Before any ads go live, we'll update this page, ask for your consent where the law requires it, and ask you to accept the new terms.

Cards and rules will change

We're still balancing the game. Card abilities, skills, salaries and rules can change at any time, and cards can be added or removed. A deck that's legal today may need rebuilding tomorrow, and a card you love may get weaker (or stronger).

Tell us what you think

Feedback is the whole point of the beta. Bugs, confusing rules, cards that feel too strong or too weak, ideas, things you loved: we want all of it.

  • Feedback in the top bar (in the menu on phones) works on every page.
  • Report a problem in the match menu attaches the game in progress, so we can replay exactly what happened.

Anything you send us we may use to improve the game, without owing you payment or credit. Please don't send anything you'd want to keep private.

Play fair

  • Be a good sport. No harassment, hate or offensive display names and profile pictures.
  • If you find a bug that gives you an edge, report it rather than using it against other players.
  • Don't try to break, overload or get into parts of the service that aren't yours.

We may remove names or pictures, reset accounts or block access to keep the game fun for everyone.

Your information

You sign in with Google, which shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We store what the game needs to work: your display name and picture, decks, games and match history, coins and collection, and any feedback you send (problem reports include the full game state).

Other players can see your display name, profile picture, decks and match history. Until you pick a display name on your profile, they see your first name and last initial. Your email address isn't shown to other players.

Data is stored with Google Firebase. The game also keeps a few settings and your practice game in your browser's local storage. We don't sell your information, and we use it only to run and improve RinkRivals (and, if we add ads, as described under "Ads, maybe later").

Want your account and data deleted? Use Delete my account at the bottom of your profile. It deletes your profile and picture, decks, coins and cards, and match history right away. Online games you played stay in your opponents' match history, and feedback you sent stays so we can fix bugs, but your name and picture are taken off them. If anything goes wrong, send us a note through Feedback and we'll take care of it.

Younger players

You need a Google account to play. If you're under 13, or under the age of majority where you live, please play with a parent's or guardian's permission.
